This policy explains what personal data DataSet2B collects from you as a contributor, why we use it, who we share it with, and how you exercise your rights under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018, the “LGPD”).
1. Who handles your data
DataSet2B runs the platform at dataset2b.com and the contributor app at app.dataset2b.com. Under the LGPD we are the controller of the personal data described here: we decide what is collected and what it is used for.
In some cases we act as a processor — for example, when a client commissions a set of recordings to its own specification and determines how that material is used. When that happens, our transparency duties and our commitment to answering your requests still stand, and you can come to us first.
Reach our privacy team at contact@dataset2b.com.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Account and sign-up data
- Identification: full name, date of birth, email, phone number and CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID).
- Payment: your Pix key and the banking details needed to transfer payment for approved hours.
- Access: password (stored encrypted) and login records.
2.2 The recordings you submit
- First-person video of the task you performed, including everything in frame — your hands, tools, objects and the surrounding environment.
- Audio of your narration, which counts as biometric data insofar as a voice can identify a person.
- Transcripts and annotations derived from the video and audio, including by automated processing.
- Technical metadata from the file: duration, resolution, date and time, device model and, where your phone records it, the approximate location of the recording.
You control what is in frame. We do not ask for and do not need documents, screens showing personal data, the faces of other people, or sensitive information inside the video. If something like that appears by accident, write to contact@dataset2b.com and we will cut the segment or delete the whole recording.
2.3 Platform usage data
- IP address, browser type, operating system and device identifiers.
- Pages visited, clicks, access times and actions taken in the dashboard.
- History of submissions, approvals, rejections and payments.
- Messages exchanged with support.
3. Why we use your data
- Running the contributor programme: creating and maintaining your account, distributing tasks, receiving submissions and showing your history.
- Assessing recording quality: checking sharpness, stability, narration pace and task fit in order to approve or reject submitted hours — which involves both automated and human review.
- Paying you: calculating approved hours and executing the weekly Pix transfer.
- Meeting legal obligations: tax, accounting and fraud-prevention records.
- Building datasets for training artificial intelligence, which is the core purpose of the service: approved recordings are prepared, labelled and licensed to clients that train and evaluate models.
- Improving the platform: understanding where contributors get stuck, fixing errors and measuring site performance in aggregate.
- Communication: notices about tasks, approvals, payments and changes to these policies.
- Security: detecting duplicate accounts, fraudulent submissions, reused footage and synthetic voices.
4. Legal bases
- Performance of a contract (LGPD art. 7, V) — to register you, receive recordings, review them and pay.
- Consent (art. 7, I and art. 11, I) — to collect and use your voice and image in the recordings and to license them to clients as training data. This consent is specific, highlighted at sign-up, and can be withdrawn at any time, as described in section 10.
- Compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation (art. 7, II) — to keep tax and accounting records.
- Legitimate interests (art. 7, IX) — for platform security, fraud prevention and service improvement, always weighed against what you would reasonably expect.
- Exercise of rights (art. 7, VI) — in administrative, judicial or arbitral proceedings.
5. When other people appear in the video
Keep the focus on your hands and the task. If another person appears or can be heard in the recording, you must obtain their consent before submitting the material — both the LGPD and our quality policy require it.
Recordings with identifiable third parties and no consent are rejected and deleted. Anyone who appears in one of our videos can request removal by writing to contact@dataset2b.com.
6. Who we share with
We do not sell your account data. We share data only with:
- Clients licensing the datasets: they receive approved recordings and the annotations derived from them, without your name, CPF, email, phone number or payment details.
- Infrastructure providers: hosting, video storage, transcription, transactional email and analytics, engaged as processors and bound to handle data only on our instructions.
- Payment service providers, to execute the Pix transfer.
- Public authorities, where there is a valid legal request or court order.
- Successors, in a corporate reorganisation, merger or acquisition, with the protections in this policy carried over.
7. International transfers
Part of our infrastructure and some of the clients licensing the datasets are located outside Brazil. In those cases the transfer relies on the safeguards required by LGPD art. 33 — data protection contractual clauses, transfer to a country with an adequate level of protection, or your specific consent, as applicable.
8. How long we keep it
- Account data: for as long as your account exists, and for up to 5 years after closure, to defend against potential disputes.
- Tax records of payments: for the period required by tax law.
- Rejected recordings: deleted within 90 days of rejection.
- Approved recordings: kept for the duration of the licence granted to clients. Recordings already delivered and built into datasets may not be recoverable from a client's systems after consent is withdrawn — see section 10.
- Access logs: 6 months, as required by Brazil's Internet Civil Framework.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, logging of administrative access and periodic vendor review. No system is entirely immune: if a security incident occurs that poses a relevant risk to you, we will notify you and Brazil's National Data Protection Authority within the legal deadlines.
10. Your rights
The LGPD gives you the right, at any time and free of charge, to:
- confirm whether we process your data and access that data;
- correct incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date data;
- request anonymisation, blocking or deletion of data that is unnecessary or processed unlawfully;
- request portability of your data to another provider;
- learn which entities we have shared your data with;
- learn the consequences of refusing consent;
- withdraw consent;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- request human review of automated decisions that affect you — including the rejection of a recording.
Write to contact@dataset2b.com. We respond within 15 days. We may ask for additional information to confirm the request really comes from you.
About withdrawing consent for recordings. Withdrawal applies going forward: we stop licensing new copies and delete the material from our systems. Recordings already delivered to clients and already built into a model's training may not be removable retroactively. We will tell you plainly what was deleted and what remains under a licence already granted.
11. Cookies and measurement
This site uses cookies and equivalent technologies for basic functionality and to measure audience in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the pages keep working. The contributor app uses its own session cookies, which are necessary to keep you signed in.
12. Minimum age
The programme is restricted to people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children or adolescents. If we identify an account in that situation, it is closed and the data deleted.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced by email or in the contributor dashboard at least 15 days in advance. The date of the last update is always at the top of this page.
14. Contact
